Xbox.com forum moderators and Xbox MVPs Community Playdate

This Friday, Sept. 30th, a few of the moderators of the xbox.com forums and some of the Xbox MVPs, who you see posting there, will host a community playdate.  We will be playing Gears of War 3 from 8 – 11 pm EST.

If you happen to play with us and want to write about it we want to hear from you.  EE (Elite Effect) and I are going to be starting up a little project where we publish articles written by you and people like you.  We’re starting with the playdate.  If you look at the bottom of the official playdate page on xbox.com (by clicking the banner in this post) you’ll see this:

“If you get a chance to play with members of the gaming community, we want to hear all about it! We’ll be posting recaps from gamers all across the country. Send us an email with the subject “Community Playdate,” tell us who you played games with, and be sure to include your gamertag and hometown!”

In addition to sending an email to MS we’d like to hear from you too.  Follow the same format and include us by adding xboxunited@live.com to your recipients :D

Play Games, Heal Kids

extraLifeTitleCard.jpgOn Oct. 15th I’m going to play video games for a full 24 hours…..(I hope).  I’ve joined the Extra Life campaign powered by the Sarcastic Gamer community.  I’ve set a goal of $200 which is double the default recommendation of …wait for it….$100.  I will be playing for the Children’s Miracle Network of Arnot Ogden Medical center.  They are a local hospital for me and have the only Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in our area and offer unprecedented support for premature and critically ill newborn babies.  Miracles happen there everyday, Thank You for supporting them.

If you can’t donate, I encourage you to to either spread the word to help me reach my goal or head over to extra-life.org and register to participate.  Together we can.
