Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon | Mini-Review

        Developer(s): Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft Shanghai
Publisher: Ubisoft
Platform: XBLA, PSN, PC
Price: $14.99 (1200 Microsoft Points)

Blood Dragon is a stand-alone, downloadable expansion to the critically acclaimed “Far Cry 3″. You don’t have to own Far Cry 3, or even have any prior knowledge of the Far Cry series. Blood Dragon is a self-contained, retro futuristic sibling to the franchise, & it’s full of insanity. Is it worth the $15 price tag though? Hit the jump & I’ll gladly inform you of what I thought about this love letter to 80′s action films. Continue reading

BattleBlock Theater – Weapons

The weapons of BattleBlock theater are useful for more than just killing.  In this video I demonstrate how they work.  I’ve also got a link to the BattlePedia where you can learn all about their uses and get a checklist to go by when you try for the weapons master achievement.

Something I didn’t immediately realize, is you can select a new weapon for your character mid game.  To do this simply head to the pause menu and the option is there.  This makes some of the trickier levels a little less tricky.  Additionally don’t be afraid to give your heads away in exchange for weapons when trading online.  Once you have all of the weapons you’ll continue to collect yarn balls but they become useless for you while remaining valuable to players in need of weapons.  This way you can just trade them back for heads later in the game.  Here’s the link to the BattlePedia

Xbox United Podcast Episode 5

PodcastbuttonThis week turned out a little awkward.  I think Crazy was a bit BioShocked.  We experimented and decided to do two podcasts.  The first one is me talking about what’s going on pretty much and the second is all about BioShock and spoilers!  We’re closing in on our podcast testing and hope to have solid shows and a relaunch in the near future.  Got some cool stuff for that so stay tuned and thanks for listening.

SPOILERS!!! – BioShock

BattleBlock Theater – Melee Master

This one seems a bit tricky to unlock.  I went to the arena in single player and started a muckle match so I could keep track of what moves I had tried.   Seems like a much easier way to make sure you’re doing them all.  I did complete these a few times and it took a little bit to unlock.  I’m not sure what I was doing wrong but eventually it popped.

Bioshock Skeet Shoot Achievement

Here’s a quick run down of how to get the Skeet Shoot achievement in BioShock.  I tried relentlessly doing this with the Bronco Vigor only to find out online that it’s considered floating and not actually falling.  However, with the Undertow Vigor and a shotgun you can quickly pick it up.  Enjoy!

Love XBLA for Xbox Live Rewards

Starting in April Xbox Live Rewards will have a new program for Arcade lovers like myself.  Say hello to My Punchcard.  With the punch card you can earn Exclusive bonuses for buying and playing XBLA games.  The rewards site will track your stats, playtime purchases to calculate your punches.  If you earn enough you get more rewards.  For example, you get a punch for every 800 msp game you buy.  If you buy 4 you get 800 msp back.  You don’t have to purchase anything for one of them but just play 20 hours of Arcade games in April.  Check out the Rewards site for full details.
